the Little Red Reviewer

The Best of LRR Kickstarter!

In January of 2019, I’ll be running a Kickstarter for a print book of The Best of Little Red Reviewer.  This volume will contain my best reviews of the last eight years.  I’m excited and kind of terrified!

The Kickstarter runs January 2nd to January 31st,  click HERE to visit the Kickstarter page and make a pledge.

My reviews exist only on this website. When the internet evolves into something new, when blogging is no longer a thing, my work will cease to exist. But will it cease to have value?   This kickstarter is a viability project to see not only if my reviews have value outside the internet. They are pixels on a screen – are they worth ink on the page?

The Best of Little Red Reviewer will contain the work I’m most proud of. It will be a reflection of who I am as a reviewer.  Can you find all that same stuff on my blog? Of course you can.  Have you scrolled through my review index lately? Good luck figuring which reviews are worth reading.

I will be asking for $5000 to cover the costs of copy editing, interior book design, cover art, printing, and shipping supplies.

a pledge of $15 gets you the print book.

pledges of $35 will get you things like a customized book, or writing the introduction to your favorite review.

Until the end of January I’ll be all over the internet talking about this project and asking you to pledge your $15 or your $35 or your whatever to help make The Best of Little Red Reviewer a thing that exists!

I’ll be updating this page regularly with links to interviews and guest posts I’ve done about this project. You’ll find out how I chose the reviews for the book, why in the heck i’m doing this crazy thing, the ins and outs of running your first Kickstarter, the lifecycle of this blog, how I got started and where I hope to go.

Got questions?  got ideas for stretch goals? Got ideas for backer rewards?  Comment away!

UPDATE  12/25/18 –  Merry Christmas!   I have e-mailed out nearly all the guest posts, and I am totally burned out on writing guest posts (wow, so this is what the other side of a blog tour feels like!).  That said, I’d still love to stop by your website in January to discuss this project, and I’m happy to do interviews.  Send me some interview and/or discussion questions, let’s chat!

UPDATE 1/2/19 – Happy New Year!  AND the Kickstarter is now LIVE! #endlessscreaming

UPDATE 1/6/19 – Five days in and I’m at 20% funded!   Customized books are going fast!  All my friends know about this project . . . now I just need to get all their friends to know about it, and their friends, and their friends.  I still have a long way to go, this is a marathon not a sprint.

UPDATE 1/18/19  Customized Book backer rewards are going so fast I had to add more!   I figure everyone would go for the $5 ebook backer reward or the $15 print books? but no, everyone wants the customized books! Guess I better stock up on colors pencils and fine tip sharpie markers.

some of the books reviewed here were free ARCs supplied by publishers/authors/other groups. Some of the books here I got from the library. the rest I *gasp!* actually paid for. I'll do my best to let you know what's what.
