Oh, and if i have misidentified characters, let me know in the comments so I can fix the captions. Google image search only gets you so far….
Jumping right back into cosplay photos:
Sword Art Online was another very popular show to cosplay, there were a ton of Kiritos and Asunas running around. Running Around, very hard to photograph.
sexy shirtless men? We got those too. There was flashing purple nipple guys, the Old Spice guy, this guy from Free:
and this guy:
Also, this gentleman makes a very handsome Dante!
The Final Fantasy franchise has always been popular with cosplayers, not least because you get to make ridiculous weapons!
and speaking of video games, Cutest Mario Kart EVER!
Do you know what Vocoloids are? It started as a Japanese voice imitation software, where they sampled a singer’s voice and then midi’d the hell out of it. And well, the entire thing took off like crazy, with video games, and concerts, and cosplay of course!
Hatsune Miku is the most famous Vocaloid, and the Con was FULL of girls in long turquoise wigs and black and grey outfits. Hatsune outfits can be purchased readymade, and there were a lot of teen and pre-teen girls in the outfit. This one was one of my favorites:
That’s the great thing about Cosplay. You can make the outfit your own. Keep the color scheme, keep the accessories, and then do what you want. You are showing your love and appreciation for the character. Want to mix and match? Go for it!
Like this guy:
and these Steampunk Power Rangers!
I loved this lady cosplaying Miss Monochrome, she was posing with the dance poses for everyone who wanted to take her picture. Now *that* is some attention to detail!
Took me quite a bit of research, but I finally identified this character as Mink from Dramatical Murder. Searching “pirate with dreadlocks” got me absolutely nowhere.
And can someone tell me what the hell Homestuck is? About half the people under age 15 were in red/orange horns, black t-shirts, and grey bodypaint. Maybe it was the age group, maybe it was the attitude that goes with Homestuck, but I learned pretty quick that if someone was dressed as homestuck, they were probably going to be obnoxiously and usually loudly in everyone else’s way. Then there was this lady. Everyone wanted to photograph her.
That about does it for my Japanese character inspired cosplay photos. More pics coming up soon featuring cosplay from western comic books, video games, and tv shows!

More great pictures. Cosplayers get my respect for all the love and effort they put into it.
Vincent Valentine is from FF7. He also gets a mention in Crisis Core: FF 7. He also had his own game but that was crappy and best forgotten.
I regularly see Vocaloid cosplayers round my way.

Once I figured out how to recognize the Vocaloids, I realized they were everywhere. Thanks for the clarification on Vincent Valentine!
The cosplay was definitely the highlight of this convention!
