Friday Blog Hop!

A great question on the friday blog hop this week, one that’s crossed my mind many times:
“When you read a book that you just can’t get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?”
it depends on the book. If it’s just some random book from the library, I put it down and don’t worry about it. Maybe I’ll pick up a few days later, maybe not. But if it’s something I’ve really been looking forward to, or something I have made an obligation to review, I better stick it out! Many times I’ve been happily surprised by a book that started out slow, but had such a crazy ending, the 600+ pages it took to get there was worth it (Neal Stephenson, I’m looking at you!)

I’m pretty much the same way 🙂 I have no issues putting down a book I don’t like from the library or the book store. If it’s a long book though, I try to read more of it before quitting. Sometimes books I ended up loving started off really slow and didn’t get good until after a hundred or so pages.
Have a great weekend 🙂

I’m more likely to abandon library books, too. I haven’t actually read a library book in ages, though!
Thanks for stopping by my site. Have a great weekend!

Happy Follow Friday!!! Hope you will stop by my blog too! My publisher and I are looking for a group of bloggers for a huge blog tour next year before the release of book two in my ‘A Sense of Truth’ series! We will be giving out a few more copies of The Thirteenth Chime (we can only give out so many, being open to e-books gives an upper hand) and are still open to all interviews and guest posts. We want to fill up the Amazon page with reviews and try to reach as many people as we can!!! Hope you might consider being a part of the team! Thank you either way!
Sincerely,
Emma Michaels

Stopping by to say hi to another review of graphic literature! (or at least, one who bothered to specify it in their blog description). Looking forward to reading your reviews!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Like you, I try not to commit to reviewing books that I won’t like. I can’t always know in advance what I will and won’t like, but I can make an educated guess. I will do a little research before I accept a review copy of a book by an author I know nothing about.

I’m just like you; though it’s been a years since I got a book out from the library I had no problems ditching something that didn’t grab me, but when it’s my own books – especially one I’ve been looking forward to – I feel obliged to finish it. But I’ll give myself a break and start something else that I KNOW I’ll enjoy just to mix things up a bit 🙂
The only Stephenson book I’ve read so far is Snow Crash, but it did have a good ending!
