Book Blog Party? Sweet!

Posted on: August 13, 2010

Book Blogger Hop

I recently found the Book Blogger Hop on Crazy for Books.

well, I am crazy for books, and looking for other crazy book blogs to follow, so imma crash the party.

the big question for this weekend’s book blogger hop (wow, say that 10 times fast!) is how many books do you have on your “to be read” shelf?”

Well, there’s the “new” book stack under the coffee table, stuff I picked up during the summer, library books, and loaners from friends, and there’s maybe a dozen books there.

and there’s the random classic books sitting around that I bought because “I should own some classics!” that I never picked up to read. That’s about a dozen more.

Then there’s maybe another 20 books that every time I look at them I think to myself “I really enjoyed that book, I should really read that again”.

Yikes, the too be read stack is getting even more out of control than I thought! Good thing I really enjoy reading!

LOL, love your answer! Just hopping by…maybe it is called the hop because we must hop over the piles of books to be read to reach our computers? 😉

Ooh, I second the classics TBR pile! Especially when there’s a deal on or they’re cheap (looking at you, green Penguin classics).

speaking of cheap, I get a ton of classics at library book sales and garage sales. If you see a high school or college kid running a garage sale, you’re pretty much garunteed to find some cheapo literature 101 stuff.

I just stopped by via the Hop!

I’d love to have you stop by my blog, too!

I do have Girl in a Tangerine Scarf on my shelf. I’ll have to move it up on my TBR. Thanks for letting me know 🙂

Just hopping by. :]

I’m glad someone other than me has also bought classics just because you felt like you should own some classics. I’m definitely guilty of that!

Also, I couldn’t help but notice your previous post about writing reviews – and I’m the same way. Whenever I read a book, it’s much easier for me to write and explain the negatives, and harder to write and explain the positives.

I look forward to your upcoming posts. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Hi Alissa! thanks for your comment!

Ok, so here’s the trick tho – we buy classics, but do we actually read them? I must be totally adhd, when it comes to classics, I’d rather read the comic book version.

Agreed!

Although, I DO attempt to read them shortly after purchasing them. But more often than not, I end up bored and move onto a non-classic.

some of the books reviewed here were free ARCs supplied by publishers/authors/other groups. Some of the books here I got from the library. the rest I *gasp!* actually paid for. I'll do my best to let you know what's what.
